I’m Reena Yadav, the founder and creator of Gemini Gypsy Diaries. I am a Malaysian, born and raised. Read all about me here.

Introduction

I was born in Ipoh and raised in Parit Buntar, Boston (United States of America), Klang, Kuching, and Johor Bahru before returning to Kuala Lumpur to complete my studies.

My first airplane ride was when I was a 4-year-old girl. Before heading to Boston, we spent a few days in Hawaii (and Waikiki Beach). Some of my memories include my dad asking us to pack our bags as we were going on an adventure.

And, we had the adventure of my lifetime. My mum packed our bags and we were soon on our way in our reliable Chevrolet Celebrity. During the summer break, we explored the United States, almost covering 49 states.

We started from Boston and ended our journey in Quebec, Canada to visit an aunt who settled there.

What is my travel style?

• Although I began as a fast traveler, I am now moving towards slow travel. I love to explore the history, culture, and food of the places we were at.
• The purpose of this blog is to inspire people to travel more. And, that historical places are not boring. I share stories of historical places, local legends, and myths.

The Story Behind Gemini Gypsy Diaries

While I was working in the corporate world, I would always look out the window and imagine myself at some other place, other than my desk.

I was laid off in 2019 and by then I knew that a desk job was not for me. I’ve wanted to document my travels and that’s how Gemini Gypsy Diaries was born.

Although Gemini Gypsy Diaries started as a passion project, I wanted a safe space to share my travel itineraries. After every trip, I was asked, “Who did your itinerary?” and “Do you have any tips for us?”

What sets my blog apart from the others is that I curate my travel itineraries and share them here! My focus includes hidden gems and food experiences from me to you.

What Can You Expect

I will share content that includes destination guides, travel tips, itineraries, and hotel reviews with a touch of my personal travel stories.

My target audience is geared toward backpackers, families, luxury travelers, digital nomads, or anyone looking for custom-made travel itineraries.

Fun Facts About Me

• I’ve traveled all over the United States except Alaska. That is the last state I have not visited.
• The continents that I have not visited are South America, Africa, Europe, and Australia.
• My favorite destinations are India, Singapore, and Thailand.
• My hobby when I am not traveling is reading. I have a long TBR list and I’m thinking of buying more books.
